Water conditions are VERY high.

We are now an official event on the CanoeingWA calender. Members of CWA will have free entry, non-members will have to pay a $5 one day membership fee.

There is also a calm map which isn't terribly clear but the river is the light blue line that winds through the townsite.

At Allanson turn left onto Patstone road, follow that until you get to Collie (about 4 km) at the second turn left, follow the sign that indicates to Harris River Dam (on Harris river road), follow that for four or five km until you see the sign for Harris River Estate. Go through the gate and follow the gravel road down to the river. (You go past the winery building and down a small track to the waters edge.)

 

COURSE DETAILS

Surf skis and kayaks all ok.  No powered boats (Internal combustion or electric).

Helmets and buoyancy vests to be worn for the duration of the event. To same standards as the Avon Descent.

The East End Weir and Easycrete Weir (Known locally as Robbos Rock) are compulsory portage points. Breaking of this rule will result in disqualification and banning from participation in future events.

The Harris River Winery is very keen to offer camping accommodation before and after the event. They have hot showers and clean toilets available. Arrangements should be made with the winery by phoning  9734 1555 or  fax 9734 1566
